This is the place to be to view my "Fine Art" pictures and commissioned photographs.

Firstly, I shoot all images in RAW format. I like to do as much image making 'in camera' as is possible. Post processing of the images is currently done in Photoshop CS3. Any manipulation of my photographs is limited to what would be possible in a traditional darkroom. However, where a customer has specific needs, these can be accommodated.

Positive or Negative film stock can be scanned and reworked to the customer’s ideas and instructions.

Prints are supplied on Archival paper stock, whatever the finish and can be printed upto A3 in size.

“Watercolour” images are printed onto 300gsm Archival Watercolour paper. Pigment ink is used in the production of all pictures.

Any image can be supplied ‘as is’, mounted, or mounted & framed.

Please contact me to discuss your needs.

Trent_Valley_from_Waddington.jpg
Trent Valley from Waddington.

This picture was taken whilst walking along the Viking Way. This is a long distance footpath which runs for approximately 145 miles from the Humber Bridge at Barton-upon-Humber to Oakham, Leicestershire, passing through some of the quietest and most attractive scenery in eastern England.

This view looks over the Trent Valley. On the horizon can be seen 3 Power Stations, High Marnham in the centre, Cottam, and West Burton at the extreme right. They all lie along the river Trent. High Marnham power station is no longer in use.

The_Glory_Hole.jpg
The Glory Hole, Lincoln.

This "Watercolour" image is a shot of the Glory Hole in Lincoln. The half timbered building dates from 1601 and is now home to Stoke's Coffee Shop. The bridge on which this building stands dates from 1160. Most people photograph the bridge from the other side, adjacent to the local Wilkinson's shop. I wanted to do something different.

Tourist_Info_Centre.jpg
Tourist Information Centre, Castle Square, Lincoln.

The subject of this "Watercolour" picture is the Tourist Information Centre, located on Castle Square, at the top of Steep Hill in Lincoln. It is a jettied timber-framed tudor building of about the 1540's. It was originally rendered, but this was removed in 1929 when the owners, The National Provisional Bank, carried out restoration work. It was given to the Cathedral by the National Westminster Bank in 1970, after they carried out a further restoration.

XAS_949_Complete_Signed.jpg
Vauxhall PA Cresta. XAS 949.

This is a compilation photograph, made in response to a request for "a nice picture of my car, to hang on the wall".
The car, a 1960 Vauxhall PA Cresta, was fully restored over a period of time. The owner wanted an image that showed the whole car off as best as possible, rather than just the usual 'pack shot' image.
The occasion to take the shot arose at a Country Fair. The weather was ok, but the cars on show were packed in tight, with owners and viewers milling about. Not ideal.
A series of images were taken and then post processed in CS3 to achieve the final image that you can see above.
In total, 10 layers were used, in addition to the processing carried out to the raw image. The main image is made up of 2 shots, the car and new background. To this a 'misty' filter was added. Each small element is on a seperate layer, allowing positioning to the client's approval. Finally, The last 2 layers consist of border and title.

Anyone wishing to see the history of the car and the full restoration process can do at:
